Apprentices

Apprentice-instruction

Our apprenticeship program has evolved since we started it at the end of 1998, but has been incredibly successful from the start, and we are more committed to it than ever. We've found that having apprentices learn the craft in the real world from craftsmen has benefits to all and is a vast improvement over the results we've seen from classroom training.

Most projects have "less challenging" moments that we can have our apprentices do under our supervision saving our clients valuable dollars without introducing the hidden costs of coordinating multiple teams and the communication problems that are inherent to doing so.

Our apprentices are trained from day one on best practices of software development and typically grow to be extremely accomplished and well-sought-after craftsmen. We find and cultivate an attitude of customer service that you just won't find in most young geeks.

In the fall of 2011, we announced the opening of RoleModel Software Craftsmanship Academy which is being hailed as the new model for training the next generation of software craftsmen. Other software craftsmanship shops are lining up to take the graduates of this program as their own interns.
